A professional look that moves and breathes with you. Every day — like your first flight.
A Cut Above Uniforms is a flight apparel brand with the reputation of aviation’s “workhorse.” Shirts are built for mixed-mode days: cockpit → briefing → transfer. They balance a neat appearance with true durability: reinforced stitching, precise tailoring, practical fabrics, and thoughtful details (epaulet straps, pen pockets, a collar that holds its line).
Advantages:
Fit for every body type: three cuts — Fitted / Tapered / Relaxed.
Fabric for every climate and task: Tropo (premium stretch), Cirrus (universal wrinkle-resistant), Brooks (breathable bamboo blend).
Comfort in motion: stretch, proper chest and shoulder freedom, collar that stays crisp.
Easy care: machine washable, quick to press / or nearly wrinkle-free (Cirrus).
About the fabrics:
Tropo (74% polyester, 18% viscose, 5% spandex) — premium stretch twill.
Noticeably denser, holds its shape and silhouette, looks “high-end.”
Stretch works during movement (yoke, baggage, boarding/deboarding) — less tension in shoulders and back.
Viscose adds a soft, pleasant touch.
Perfect for those who prefer a sharp line and minimal wrinkles throughout the day.
Available only in Fitted cut (for a sleek silhouette).
Cirrus (65% polyester, 35% cotton) — the universal “workhorse.”
Medium weight, non-stretch, but with anti-wrinkle finish.
Holds shape, easy care, quick drying; OEKO-TEX 100 certified.
Classic balance of comfort and endurance — pilots’ trusted choice for years.
Best option if you want minimum care and a consistently neat look.
Brooks (57% polyester, 39% bamboo, 4% spandex) — lightweight and breathable.
Bamboo fiber provides natural breathability and antibacterial effect — perfect for heat or tropical climates.
Light stretch twill: freedom through shoulders and torso, less wrinkling than cotton.
Soft and comfortable to wear.
Ideal for long shifts and warm seasons.
About the cuts:
Fitted (tailored)
Most body-hugging silhouette: close through shoulders, torso, and waist.
Looks sharp under a tie or blazer.
Recommended for slim/athletic builds or if you prefer a “catalog” look.
Fabrics: Cirrus, Tropo.
Tapered (straight, universal)
Most popular choice (≈ half of customers).
Balance of neatness and freedom: straight through the waist, no excess fabric.
Fits most body types; if unsure — start with Tapered.
Fabrics: Cirrus, Brooks.
Relaxed (loose fit)
Roomiest cut for maximum comfort.
Great for broader shoulders or larger builds, prioritizing ventilation and ease.
Fabrics: Cirrus.
Shirt selection guide:
1) Measure correctly.
Collar: measure around the base of your neck, add 1–2 cm (about a finger’s space).
Quick size chart: US → EU: 14.5→37, 15→38, 15.5→39, 16→41, 16.5→42, 17→43, 17.5→44, 18→46, 18.5→47, 19→48, 19.5→49.
Chest/Waist: measure at the widest point of the chest and waist (don’t suck in).
Move your arms up/forward — the shirt should not pull at the shoulders or come untucked.
2) Choose the cut for your build.
Prefer a sleek, fitted look or wear under a blazer? — Fitted (especially Tropo or Brooks).
Want an everyday balance? — Tapered.
Need extra space and airflow? — Relaxed, especially with Brooks or Cirrus.
3) Match the fabric to your climate and routine.
Hot weather, long shifts — Brooks (bamboo + stretch).
Low-maintenance, business standard — Cirrus.
Crisp lines and formal appearance — Tropo (Fitted) or Cirrus (Fitted/Tapered).
4) Final fitting — checklist.
One finger fits comfortably between collar and neck.
Shoulder seam aligns with the edge of your shoulder.
No pulling at the chest or shoulder blades when seated.
Long enough to stay tucked when you move.
Care (for long-lasting wear):
Wash: 30–40 °C (cold/delicate cycle), inside out, no bleach.
Dry: hang dry or gentle tumble; avoid overheating.
Iron: medium temperature; Tropo and Cirrus often need only light smoothing after drying.
Stains/collar area: pre-treat with mild detergent; for Brooks, use gentle products.
Storage: hang on a wide hanger, button the collar — it keeps its line.
