Plate carriers, load-bearing vests and LBE systems are key elements of personal protection and gear organisation within the subcategory «Tactical gear — Protective equipment». They help you securely position armour plates and pouches, distribute weight evenly, and quickly access essentials while performing tasks.
Plate carriers are designed to carry standard-format armour plates and provide a stable fit without excessive play. Pay attention to plate compatibility (SAPI/ESAPI or equivalents), a quick-release system, adjustment of shoulder straps and the cummerbund, the presence of ventilation inserts, reinforced hardware and stitching quality. The MOLLE/PALS interface allows you to tailor your pouch setup to the mission.
Load-bearing vests and LBE (load-bearing equipment) systems are the best choice when mobility and smart gear placement matter: magazines, first-aid kit, radio, tourniquets, grenade or general-purpose pouches. LBE often provides better weight distribution across the belt/shoulders, reducing strain on the back and not interfering with work in vehicles or under cover.
When choosing a system, consider the type of tasks, the season (layers worn underneath), the required pouch capacity, the option to mount panels/platforms, backpack compatibility, and comfort during prolonged wear. At Crewshop you’ll find solutions for training, service and field conditions — from minimalist setups to full kits ready for further customisation.
