Description
FPV VTX 5W 7.2 GHz is a high-power analogue video transmitter for long-range drones when penetration and the cleanest possible image matter. Operating in the 6110–7210 MHz range helps reduce the impact of typical on-air noise often found on more popular frequencies, keeping the video readable at range and in challenging conditions.
The transmitter offers 60 channels across bands A/B/E/F/R/P/N/U and supports four power modes: Pit for ground setup, 25 mW for short sessions, plus 2.5 W and 5 W for serious flights. Switching is done via buttons with LED indication or remotely via the IRC Tramp protocol—handy when you need to change channel/power quickly without access to the unit, straight from the OSD menu.
The aluminium housing acts as a heatsink, while the fan provides active cooling—critical for sustained high-power operation. Built-in thermal protection monitors temperature: at around 100 °C the VTX reduces power, and after cooling (around 95 °C) returns to the previous mode, improving reliability in flight.
Power input 15–36 V (2–8S) gives flexibility for different builds, and the 5 V output can power compatible peripherals. The 20×20 mm (M2) mounting pattern makes installation easier in most frames. Important: always connect an antenna before powering on and ensure airflow—otherwise throttling will occur.
