Description
The XT30 2-pin power connector (Male/Female set) is a compact high-current connector designed for reliable power connection in systems where low weight, a precise fit and stable current transfer matter. It’s commonly chosen for FPV drones and mini quadcopters, as well as for RC models and DIY electronics where a tidy, durable connection is required.
The key advantage of the XT30 is its high-quality 2 mm copper bullet-type contacts. They provide even surface contact, reduce contact resistance and help avoid heating within operating limits. Thanks to the tight mating fit, the connector holds securely, without play or accidental disconnects during vibration, sharp manoeuvres or transport.
The housing is made of heat-resistant yellow plastic, designed to operate from -20°C to +120°C. This is convenient during assembly: the connector better tolerates soldering temperatures and doesn’t lose its geometry under short-term heating. The semi-open rear section simplifies cable routing and access to the solder cups, making soldering faster and cleaner — especially in tight drone builds.
The connector supports a rated current up to 15 A and short-term peak loads up to 30 A, making it a practical choice for powering electronics, ESCs, motors and LiPo batteries. The recommended wire size is around 18 AWG: this helps achieve an optimal balance between cable flexibility and current capacity.
