Description

HTOOL SA8T is a portable RF tool for anyone who needs fast, easy-to-read measurements in the field or in the lab. It combines a spectrum analyser, a built-in RF signal generator and an S21 transmission measurement mode, so you can not only “see” the airwaves but also quickly check cables, filters, amplifiers, antenna feed lines and other RF equipment. The 13.5 MHz–8.2 GHz range covers common radio services and wireless standards, while the maximum 8186 MHz span lets you view wide frequency windows without constant band switching.

The 4-inch IPS touchscreen shows the spectrum in real time with peaks, markers and a waterfall plot, which is handy for tracking unstable or short-duration emitters. For better separation of closely spaced signals, RBW options of 2.5/5/10/25 kHz are available: a narrower bandwidth improves selectivity, while a wider one suits fast wideband scans. With suitable settings and conditions, the minimum noise floor can reach about −105 dBm (depending on frequency, RBW, gain/attenuation and the environment).

The built-in generator produces a test signal across the entire working range: from 13.5 MHz to 6.4 GHz the level is adjustable from −11 to −29 dBm, and from 6.4 to 8.2 GHz a fixed level of about −29 dBm is used. After normalising the path, the S21 Transmission Measurement mode helps estimate insertion loss or gain — a practical tool for quick checks, though it does not replace a full vector network analyser (VNA).
